When Morocco Conquered America

I could care less for reality television, especially the Real Housewives of New York (seriously), but in case you hadn’t heard, the “real housewives” recently made a trip to Morocco.  Then, about a week after hearing that nonsense, I heard that there is a new television show akin the Amazing Race that’s currently filming in Morocco, as well.  Expedition Impossible is ABC’s new show filmed here in country, though from what I’ve heard, there’s not much that they are doing in this country that I couldn’t do better with knowing Moroccan Arabic.  Zing!  If that’s not enough for you, I hear that the fashion world is having a Moroccan obsession right now.  I don’t really know what that means (or care), but if I come home and have American friends wearing jellabas and Moroccan shoes, I’m going to be a little annoyed.  Seriously, how can I be a culture snob if everybody already knows everything about Morocco?  On the other hand, I could open up a travel agency and take people on excursions into this beautiful country for good money!  Sounds like business will go up if Morocco is really overtaking America like they say it is.

At any rate, I wanted to post this little blurb, because if you’ve noticed Morocco in any way, shape and form back home in the States, I’d like to hear about it.  In the meantime, keep your eyes peeled for two upcoming blogs, one about my travels to Essaouira where I worked at a music festival for a week and another about the infamous glasses project I’ve been babbling about for months.  Here’s a teaser for the next blog -
