Let’s keep this short and sweet. As many of you know, I recently put out a request for a renewal of my Flickr Pro Account. My friend, Maria Mayo, who has recently been published on the Huffington Post’s Religion page, purchased a Flickr Pro account for me; however, Flickr overcharged her (two extra times) and then claimed she had never purchased anything from them. In the meantime, my Flickr account has been downgraded to a free account where I cannot even view my own copyrighted material if it’s not the most recent 200 photos. Further, I am now blocked from being able to upload more than 300MB and after 90 days inactive, they close my account. Talk about awful service; I wish I had looked closer into Flickr before signing up with them.
As a result of this, I am in the process of searching for a new forum for uploading pictures. Because I’m obsessed with Google, I’ll be moving things first to Picasa Web Albums, where I’ve already uploaded all of my Facebook albums and have a “Best of: Morocco” album posted. If you have suggestions besides Picasa, let me know, and I’ll look into that. Because of the how Yahoo! Services runs its Flickr photo albums (and the way Maria was treated), I will definitely be making the switch at Christmas when I’m in America. If you want to purchase me a Flickr Pro Account, I’ll still accept that, but just know that I’ll be getting rid of it in Christmas.

A few other minor updates are in order –
1. It’s possible that Libya’s Gadhafi has moved into Algeria, the country that borders Morocco. I don’t see how this affects me at all, but I find it interesting and worth mentioning in brief.
2. Ramadan is coming into its final few days. I’ll try to post some final thoughts about the month after Aid el-Fitur. It’s been a long, hot month. I’m getting ready for September and October.
3. The next month and a half are packed. A week or so after Ramadan ends, and I am doing a project focusing on HIV/AIDs and STI prevention in my site with a mural painting at my youth center. Afterward, I am hoping to attend the wedding festival in Imilchil and then say hello to Caity’s parents in Fes. Things at my youth center should kick up in full swing just in time for me to go to a Regional Meeting in Fes in October and Portugal a few days later.
4. I recently finished the first draft of a short novel (about 45,000 words) and plan to finish editing it before September 15. Looking for serious readers who want to help in the editing process after the 15th. Now that my book is soon to be out of the way, I’m hoping to transition to working out everyday and learning how to play the guitar on top of my usual schedule.
5. September 15 marks one year in-country for me. Expect to see a completely new layout for the blog in the days surrounding the 15th. I’m looking forward to these changes, so I hope you do as well.
